Instructions

Programme

• 9:30–9:45 – Check-in in front of the badminton courts for singles
• 10:00 – Start of the singles tournament
• 12:30–12:45 – Check-in in front of the badminton courts for doubles
• 1:00 PM – End of the singles tournament and start of the doubles tournament
• 4:00 p.m. – End of the doubles tournament 

Rules

Recommended rules for signing up for singles matches:

• Beginners and intermediate players—players who play in the league up to approximately Level 9 
• Intermediate and advanced players—players at Level 8 and above

Signing up for doubles:

You must have a partner lined up. One of you will register the pair, including the team name. So only one person from the pair registers, and the entry fee is paid for both at once. If there is a change in partners, please let me know.

In the group stage, matches will determine placement in the winners’ bracket and the losers’ bracket.

Preliminary Rounds

• Singles matches are played to 1 set of 15 points. Matches are played to a 2-point lead, up to a maximum of 17 (17:16).
• Doubles matches are played to the best of two sets, each to 15 points.
• The top two players from each group and the four best third-place finishers based on score advance to the winners’ bracket.

Winners’ Bracket and Losers’ Bracket

• Knockout bracket with consolation matches—if you lose, you play additional matches.
• Losers’ bracket—round-robin (3 matches)
• Both singles and doubles are played as best-of-two sets to 15 points; the third set may be shortened depending on time constraints.
