Scorching heat outside, matches inside
Anyone who wasn’t on vacation and wanted to enjoy some badminton came to the Sprint tournament. This time, only singles matches were held because not enough players signed up for doubles. The tournament had a vacation-like atmosphere, but there were some great performances—and, unfortunately, one injury. Terka Kudrnová pulled a muscle, so she couldn’t finish the tournament and was replaced by Kuba Sajdl. I wish Terka a speedy recovery!
Who Did Best
In the intermediate category, Tomáš Aubrecht performed the best, defeating Akradii and taking home the bronze. Matěj Černohous and Petr Večeřa faced off for the gold, with Petr winning 2–0 in sets.
Among the women, Jindřiška Rennerová performed the best; Eliška Suchánková finished second, and Terka Remiášová came in third. Congratulations to everyone!
Advanced
In the advanced division, Richard Dohnálek and Lukáš Tobolík competed for the bronze. The boys played a best-of-two-sets match, and Richard emerged victorious. Jirka Lev and Honza Kadlčík faced off for the gold, with Jirka winning quite decisively.
Among the women, Lucka Jakrlová placed 7th; unfortunately, Terka was unable to finish the tournament due to an injury, so she took home the silver.
Huge congratulations to everyone, and I’m looking forward to the next tournaments, which will take place starting in September/October. They’ll be announced throughout August.
